ABOUT PLANET-ALOHA AND OUR PLANS

We are a Hawaii-based e-commerce Company, whose mission is to spread Aloha with both our prices and our service. We have contracted with a 3rd party support organization to offer you 24 hour service. 

Our client base originated with Kona Coffee Farmers. Being small farmers, it was cost-prohibitive to sell our coffee in grocery stores, thus we use Internet E-Commerce solutions.

Here is some information about our plans. Many have been tailored for specific purposes so that we may offer you very low prices for only the items you require. For example, if you just want an account for emails, there is no need for a fixed IP address as would be needed for E-Commerce (online stores).

Any of these plans can be upgraded with any option, however you would want to start with an account containing the most items you need.

EMAIL ACCOUNTS PLAN

This offer is designed for those who wish to have their own online identity for their email. You can finally drop that AOL or Hotmail identity and perhaps become "me@myownsite.com" or "fred@smartguy.net". You register the domain name (everything after the @ sign) and then can create up to 30 different email accounts, such as "fred@", "mary@","sales@", the account names are up to you.

Decide on a domain name as you will enter it at registration time. It will cost $6.25 for the 1st year and approximately $10 each year thereafter.

If you wish to get more detailed, you can also create up to 10 sub domains, such as "east.smartguy.net" and "west.smartguy.net" then create emails under those sub domains, up to your 30 emails. If desired, Fred can become "fred@east.smartguy.net". You can make this as simple or as complex as you wish. There is no charge for subdomains up to the limit of each plan.

Each email account will have its own level of anti-spam control. You can read your mail with a web browser, or connect by Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird or other POP or IMAP programs. Setting the email account to not automatically download and delete the email, allows you to have two people access the same email account.

While this account is designed primarily for people accessing email account, it also comes with website access. This account does not automatically come with website design software, you can order SiteStudio in your control panel, or enable FrontPage extensions or use other software for designing websites.

There are a number of free programs available however many of them may require a database, which is an extra cost in this plan. If you want to perform other tasks in this Email account, perhaps one of our other plans is better suited to you where those items are already included in the price.

STARTER PLAN

This plan comes with a free domain name and also comes with Site Studio to create websites if you wish. You also get unlimited sub domains for your domain.

You get up to 100 email accounts (POP and/or IMAP) and get unlimited FTP accounts.

You also get up to 5 MySQL databases for forums, photo sites, etc.


LUAU-1IP PLAN

A luau is a Hawaiian feast where you get lots of different things. The "One IP" refers to a static IP address which does not change and is used for e-commerce type stores.

This is our popular offering for those who wish to create an online store. The IP address is used to attach a SSL certificate and encrypt credit card information, etc. If you wish to use Site Studio to create a website, you can add that option later. Although OsCommerce is available as a free shopping cart, I suggest the free Zen-Cart instead and I would be happy to help you install and set it up. Zen-Cart is what all of our Kona Coffee farmers are using for their shopping carts.

We have a couple of vendors who can supply you with credit card acceptance accounts, or you may wish to start by just accepting PayPal so that you don't have a recurring monthly fee.

This offering comes with unlimited email accounts and sub domains. Thus creating email accounts like "sales", "service" and "newsletter" are options you may want.


BUSINESS PLAN

Unlimited disk and unlimited traffic and a free domain name come with this plan.

5 domains let you host multiple sites such as "MYPLACE.COM" and "MYPLACE.NET" and have different content for each.

Create website and have access to the 500 email account included in this plan. 15 mailing lists let you offer managed newsletters.

You also get up to 20 MySQL and 5 PostgreSQL 8.3 databases.
